Marc A Bruijnzeels (1965) PhD is associate professor at Leiden University Medical School – Campus The Hague and the director of Jan van Es Institute, a small expertise center for integrated primary health care in The Netherlands. As a political scientist, he gained a large experience in research, policy, teaching and practice in primary health care and health care organisation. Currently, he initiated, developed and executes a master program on Population Health Management for Leiden University at the Campus The Hague. Next he performs various research projects using the PHM approach and methodology. Based on his knowledge and experience he performed several executive and research roles in The Netherlands and Belgium in the transition from volume- to value-based integrated care. He is one of the authors of the recent WHO policy paper on Primary Care and Population Health Management. He is married and has three daughters.
